Clean one to two times a day with Sterile Saline (Neilmed or Steriwash are the only brands I trust!). You can use warm antibacterial soap from a pump, but ensure it is non scented, not harsh, and is rinsed off very well afterward. Always physically dry your piercings after they get wet. You can use a qtip, paper towel, or gauze. Single use helps stop the spread of bacteria. Be very gentle with your piercings, avoid touching them as much as possible while cleaning. No twisting or moving back and forth. If applicable, don't let makeup, facewash, or moisturizer touch your piercing site or jewelry.
For inside your mouth, water is your best friend. You can use non alcohol based mouth wash, but no more than once a day. Water, water, water! Continue your great oral hygiene, but don't use whitening products, charcoal, or purple toothpaste while healing. Avoid spicy food and really tough and chewy food while healing. Smoking, vaping, and drinking alcohol can sometimes cause irritation while healing, so be mindful of this. Never share these devices while healing a piercing around your mouth.
Always come back for your downsize jewelry once your piercing swelling goes down. We will go over what to look for and when to come back based on your piercing and anatomy when you come in.
Avoid sleeping directly on your piercing until you have your fully downsized jewelry installed. The weight of your body and even head can put pressure on your jewelry and the piercing site and cause excess swelling and/or irritation bumps, even migration of the piercing channel.
Always reach out with specific questions!
